The Team
Numan Operations Limited is a registered pharmacy based in Cardiff with responsibility for dispensing and shipping medication and supplements to the customer’s front door. As an ever growing team we are in search of enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join us. Role Overview:
As a Dispensary Support Operative, your main purpose is to provide essential support to the dispensary team, ensuring the smooth running of the Pharmacy Operations. You will be responsible for accurately picking Over the Counter items , shipping processed orders, packing completed orders into relevant courier collection equipment, de-boxing medication to be used by the Dispensary and pre-assembly of packaging materials. Additionally, maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy area will be a critical aspect of your role, involving removing and storing recyclable waste and empty stock pallets. On occasion, you may be required to assist with medication dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate Order Picking: Efficiently and accurately pick Over the Counter Items (OTC) items from designated storage areas based on order requirements, ensuring the right products are selected for dispensing.
- Order Packing: Neatly and securely pack orders to ensure safe transportation and delivery to customers or other departments.
- Shipping: Assist in preparing orders for shipping by labeling packages, completing necessary documentation, and coordinating with shipping carriers to ensure timely dispatch.
- De-boxing: Unpack medication and inventory in a timely manner, inspecting items for damage or defects, and organising them appropriately for storage or dispensing.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and tidy working area including cardboard bailing, adhering to hygiene and safety standards, and follow proper waste disposal procedures.
- Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels for OTC and packaging utilised and communicate stock requirements to the warehouse team, ensuring adequate supplies are available for picking, packing and shipping.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and other members of the pharmacy team to support overall operational efficiency and quality customer service.
- Compliance: Adhere to all pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and maintain the highest standards of pharmaceutical service.
- Medication Dispensing (occasionally): Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or ACD, assist in the dispensing of medications to patients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal and ethical guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and actively participate in initiatives to enhance dispensary operations and customer experience.
- May be required to operate forklift (training will be provided)
Qualifications and Skills:
- - Previous experience in a pharmacy, warehouse, or similar environment is beneficial but not required.
- - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and packing.
- - Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
- - Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team-oriented environment.
- - Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- - Must be reliable, punctual, and able to handle repetitive tasks efficiently.
- - Willingness to occasionally assist in medication dispensing, as needed, with appropriate training and supervision.
- -Willingness to undertake Forklift Operators Training should the business require additional drivers.
