OUR MANIFESTO:

At Heura we are food activists, and our mission is to provide a solution that leaves animals out of the equation, while feeding millions of people in a sustainable way. Technology gives us the opportunity to build a food system that not only solves our current challenges but also responds to our values.

We also know that great goals can only be achieved by diverse teams of people with different backgrounds, perspectives, orientations, abilities, food tastes, dress sense, and time zones - we don't just accept our differences; we fully support and celebrate them.

But ultimately, we all have one common goal: accelerating the protein transition.

And that’s why we are looking for a Process Enginner (Development & Modelling).

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Responsible for the development of new robust, cost-efficient processes to enable lean manufacturing solutions for science-based innovations.

  • Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of research scientists to aid the development of novel food products and related manufacturing processes.

  • Design and drive lab & pilot scale experimental plan to target Proof of Concept & Process of manufacturing methods both in house and in external facilities.

  • Explore out-of-the box, scalable processing techniques that contribute to developing proprietary technologies from scientific discoveries.

  • Design, implement, validate and run mathematical and predictive computational models applied to discovery and scale-up of new process lines.

  • Define scaling up routes and lead the design of new equipment for large scale manufacturing in collaboration with research and process engineering partners.

  • Contribute to patent drafting and scientific substantiation of patent claims.

  • Define Technology Transfer plans in collaboration with Technology Transfer Manager, ensure resources and anticipate needs.

  • Contribute to scientific publications and presentation of results in international scientific conferences.

  • Develop domain expertise and share knowledge with R&D peers and operations / engineering team members.

YOU WILL FEEL COMFORTABLE, ENJOY AND DO GREAT AT THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

  • A Caring attitude towards our mission and see it as a “personal” problem to be solved professionally.

  • A Ph.D. or Eng.D. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or equivalent scientific/engineering discipline and +7 years of industrially relevant experience.

  • In-depth understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, plasticity, fracture mechanics, failure analysis, engineering design concepts, and materials engineering is essential.

  • Experience of taking an idea / product or process from early-stage research through to scale-up phase.

  • Research experience in modeling and setup of predictive computational process simulations in the area of chemical engineering.

  • Understanding and/or hands-on research experience in fibrillation processing techniques.

  • Experience in process intensification and continuous manufacturing, with an aim of reducing manufacturing footprint is a plus.

  • Experience in bioreactor design is a plus.

  • Extracting simplified, yet reasonably accurate model representations from complex physical and biochemical processes/reactions.

  • Proven record of scientific and technical innovation.

  • Proficient in reviewing scientific reports, understanding of scientific methodology and scientific documentation practices.

  • Effective collaboration in a multidisciplinary research team.

  • Fluency in English is a must.

…Working with top-talented and amazing Good Rebels! 👇🏽

We are good, non-conformist rebels: we question the status quo and reject "that’s the way it’s always been done", therefore promoting constant change. We look for the greatest positive impact on the planet, and we know we have the power to create a new reality.

We are owners, so we take initiative and bring solutions to the table. We are humble learners and know that being under construction is fine. We help each other grow through feedback showing uncompromising transparency and vulnerability. . We value other points of view because we know that a diversity of opinions makes us greater.

We are constantly learning, and we thrive on understanding each other better every day, on putting ourselves in someone else's shoes.

None of this would make sense if we didn’t enjoy the journey. We smile and celebrate every day because we are passionate about our work and our mission.

We think big and bold and are always looking for the “WOW” in everything we do, and we work to exceed everyone’s expectations (colleagues, customers, consumers, and society).
