We distribute our ratings via our SaaS Product, BeZero Carbon Markets, informing all market participants on how to price and manage risk. Our ratings and research tools support buyers, intermediaries, investors and carbon project developers.
Founded in April 2020, our 150+ strong team combines climatic and earth sciences, sell-side financial research, earth observation, machine learning, data and technology, engineering, and public policy expertise. We work from four continents.
We raised a significant Series B funding round in late 2022, and are growing rapidly as a company, accelerating the Net-Zero transition through ratings.

Job Description:
BeZero is looking for a Chief of Staff to work closely with our co-founders and executive team. This is an exciting opportunity to experience the fast-paced nature of a rapidly-growing startup and be involved at the heart of key business developments and decisions. The Chief of Staff will report to the CEO, providing support for strategy, execution, leadership and special projects.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in consulting, investment banking, politics, or previous experience as a Chief of Staff.
We are looking for a resilient, resourceful, and strategic individual excited by the prospect of working at an innovative start-up aiming to bring together financial and environmental markets. You should thrive in the face of ambiguity: keeping composure when decisions are unclear or challenging, is a must.
Responsibilities:
Close collaboration with the CEO
- Support CEO: regular engagement will all c-suite functions; monitor business performance and team deliverables on weekly / monthly / quarterly basis
- Act as the sounding board and key confidant to the CEO and others on the Executive team
Project Management
- Have exceptional critical-thinking skills and experience in leading data-driven projects, including the ability to analyse data, identify trends, pinpoint problems and root causes, ask probing questions, set goals, track resources, and develop innovative solutions.
- Oversee critical projects, ensuring timelines, objectives and deliverables are met. This could range from researching and refining our offering for a customer segment or geography, designing new internal processes, exploring business expansion into new regions, or temporarily supporting the management of a department…
- Help the organisation deliver an OKR structure; align C-Suite on priorities, share priorities ahead of the OKR cycle, review, monitor andensure delivery.
Executive Support
- Filling temporary gaps from time to time, providing departmental leaders additional bandwidth where necessary.
- Board meetings: develop materials and drive the agenda at Board meetings.
- Executive meetings: drive agendas, lead meetings, work with Exec members on actions. Manage and hold the Executive team to any agreed strategic action points.
- Provide high-level administrative support to the CEO and co-founder, working collaboratively with the Executive Assistant to provide briefings, meeting preparation, and other tasks as needed.
Communication and Representation
- Representation and communication on behalf of the CEO: in meetings, events, articulating the company’s vision and values internally and externally.
- Being a key communicator: linking the leadership team to the broader company, managing cross-company communications.
- Promote a culture of excellence across teams.

You can / you are……
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a high degree of emotional intelligence and diplomacy
- Analytically oriented: experience at a top tier strategy consultancy, or similar within an Investment Banking environment
- Excellent judgement and execution skills: proven track record of planning and delivering on strategic initiatives
- Ability to make decisions and show initiative under pressure
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a Chief of Staff or Strategy role
- Experience in organising and directing multiple teams and departments in a senior or executive role
- Relevant industry experience, i.e. in Climate or Technology-based start-up
- Fundraising experience or exposure to a rapid growth environment
