About You
You are a highly analytical individual with strong attention to detail and a passion for numbers. What you’ll do
- Support the finance and accounting team with timely and insightful research, documentation, and guidance on technical accounting matters, including complex and non-standard transactions such as: revenue recognition, leasing, joint ventures, share-based compensations, impairments, acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity transactions
- Draft technical accounting memos for various topics, including revenue recognition, business combinations, control deficiencies, going concern, Share-based compensation, joint ventures, triggering events, CECL
- Research and understand the Company’s existing business processes and procedures to formalize company-wide accounting policies, which will be documented within the company accounting handbook
- Assist with development and maintenance of critical global accounting policies and help define ongoing processes for technical accounting research and global policy setting
- Develop and maintain the firm's accounting and auditing policies and procedures, and ensure that they are in compliance with current accounting standards and regulations
- Conduct research on emerging accounting and auditing issues, and prepare technical memos and white papers.
- Prepare cash flows, stockholders’ roll forward, EPS calculation, stock-based compensation, and accounting support for non-routine transactions.
- Assist with the preparation/review of audit schedules for annual audit, and lead preparation and review of financial statements, footnote disclosures, MD&A, and other relevant reporting matters
- Analyze complex transactions and determine appropriate U.S. GAAP treatment and communicate findings through verbal communication and written documentation for both external and internal parties
- Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- CPA license
- 7+ years of public accounting and industry experience (minimum of 3 years in public accounting). Experience with a global company and/or foreign operations
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and regulations, including GAAP, GAAS, PCAOB, IFRS, Sarbanes Oxley and SEC regulations
- Strong inclination toward technical accounting research and self-driven learning, with a passion for remaining an expert in the field
- Working knowledge of recently issued accounting guidance
- Effective business writing, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail
- Strong collaboration and communication skills working in a fully distributed team
- Sense of ownership and responsibility
