Outdoor Group Leader

Brighton & Hove Food Partnership is recruiting an Outdoor Group Leader (maternity cover)

Are you skilled at leading groups for a wide range of people, including vulnerable adults? 

This is an opportunity to join our friendly team leading outdoor activities and community gardening groups. We are looking for an experienced gardener and group leader who will deliver community activities at a range of sites across Brighton & Hove, East and West Sussex.

This role is part of our work leading the well-respected Green Wellbeing Alliance. The postholder will lead activities on local chalk grasslands as part of the Changing Chalk project alongside sessions at Saunders Park Edible Garden and outdoor sessions for people from black and racially minoritised communities in partnership with local community groups.

The successful candidate will have good horticultural experience (particularly in food growing) alongside excellent facilitation skills for leading groups outdoors. Experience of other relevant specialisms would be a bonus (eg horticultural therapy, health & social care work, mindfulness, ecotherapy, conservation or bushcraft etc).

This role is part-time, 25 hours per week. If additional funding is secured these hours could be increased on a temporary basis if that suited the post holder.

Salary: £27,586 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) pro rata for 25 hrs per week = £18,391 per annum. Please note this is a maternity cover position, likely to run until March 2025, depending on the return date of the current postholder.
