Adam Smith International (Australia) Pty Ltd (ASI Australia) was established in 2012 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Adam Smith International (UK). It is the company’s Asia Pacific (APAC) regional headquarters, responsible for leading business development and program delivery in the region. The company has operations and personnel located in several countries across APAC, providing technical advisory and program management services. We are also a registered RAP organisation endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.

About the role

ASI Australia is currently seeking a confident HR professional looking to advance their career and take on broader responsibilities. This role is responsible for managing recruitment, employee relations and advice, payroll and benefits supervision, and supporting the employee life cycle. It requires a strategic mindset as well as comfort working at the operational level. You will have line management of an HR Assistant based in Sydney, and support of People & Talent team members around the globe.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Manage the recruitment of APAC workers - both contractors and employees - with a particular focus on corporate roles, but lending additional support to high profile program roles and talent pools.
  • Maintain accurate records for APAC, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, ASI processes and reporting, and assist with migration to a new HRIS - including ensuring APAC requirements are represented in the selection and testing of the new system.
  • Manage the administration of salary and benefits for ASI Australia employees, including supervision of the payroll consultant.
  • Support APAC corporate employees with HR issue resolution in the form of direct approach as well as HR ticketing platform (Zoho).
  • Provide advice and support to the APAC Senior Management Team on matters related to personnel, resourcing, culture and more.
  • Line management and development of the Assistant People & Talent Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years’ experience in HR, preferably as an HR professional in Australia
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment methodologies and approaches – within the development industry preferred.
  • Current knowledge of Work Health & Safety practices and requirements
  • High level of technology skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite

  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders effectively, influence decisions and negotiate.
  • Proactive mindset and initiative to take innovative and flexible approaches to tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Adept at learning new things and asking for help or clarification when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for administration done well.
