As a Lead Project Manager, you’ll be immersed into a variety of business wide projects, ranging in both size and length of project delivery. In the role, you’ll lead a Project Manager as well as a Business Analyst. Through outstanding coaching, mentoring and leadership you’ll support their professional development as well as with their day-to-day needs. 

You’ll be partnering and working closely with stakeholders and functions from across the business and be the driving force that will own and coordinate the delivery of key projects. Some projects will be technology led, whilst others will have key senior stakeholders and sponsors from different areas of the business, including Operations, Marketing and Product. Responsibilities will include planning, requirements gathering, resourcing, risk management, prioritisation and management of different workstreams. 

Working in such a central function will require a candidate with broad organisation, leadership and coordination skills. A highly flexible style and approach to projects is required in order to appropriately size and manage projects on a case-by-case basis, whilst ensuring consistency and key project disciplines are maintained. 

In this role you’ll be responsible for updating relevant internal stakeholders (including our exec team) on progress at appropriate governance forums, along with running and maintaining key project meetings and documentation, appropriate to the project type. 

You’ll be driven by continuous improvement, including the development of functional capabilities, and systems expertise. You’ll get to liaise and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to maintain momentum and alignment across the teams. You will advocate Good Energy culture and role model the mindset and behaviours which align with it.

What you'll need to succeed

We’re looking for a Project Manager who is passionate about the future of energy and technology. We seek applicants that thrive in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, this position is a central role between internal functions and external stakeholders and demands excellent organisation and attention to detail. You’ll be actively driving and leading across projects that are constantly developing and changing, and you’ll be updating the relevant stakeholders accordingly – which vary in level of seniority, therefore you’ll be able to adapt your approach and communication style as required. 

We’re looking for an engaging and personable character that will build relationships with ease across the business and with 3rd party suppliers and partners. You’ll thrive in an autonomous working environment and be able to deliver results whilst working under your own direction. 

Essentials: 

  • Experience of working and leading complex project delivery, across different business functions and with subject matter experts 
  • Experience working with and managing external partners in a project environment 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that can be applied to multiple stakeholder groups 
  • A ‘can do’ attitude prepared to help problem solve and handle issues, facilitating and enabling the right conversations at the right time 
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously 
  • Experience of working in both waterfall and agile project environments 

 Desirables: 

  • Project Management qualifications 
  • Experience working in the energy industry 
  • Experience working with and leading Business Analysts 
  • The ability to coach and mentor internal staff looking to build Project Manager and Business Analyst skills for the future
