Analytics Engineer

The Insight, Data & CRM team helps Moneybox understand the business, optimise the way we use data, and communicate with our customers in the best possible way. Analytics guides our long-term strategy, our quick decisions and, increasingly, our automations. This position will report into the Analytics Engineering Manager within the Insight team, as we grow the way we use engineering principles in the Insight, Data & CRM team.

What you’ll do

You will be involved in the whole life cycle of how we go from raw data to insightful analysis Monitor the pipelines that bring data into our Data Lakehouse, identifying potential issues early Design, build and maintain our automated data transformations, to create analysis-ready datasets and sources of truth Collaborate with analysts and the wider business to understand their needs, and to define, design and ship new analytics features Help maintain code quality and organisation Promote the benefits of analytics engineering practices among the wider Insight Team

Experience and skills – essential

Experience with SQL Experience as a data analyst delivering insight to stakeholders, or significant experience (2-3 years) working closely with data analysts Experience with automating data processes

Experience and skills – desirable

3+ years experience of SQL, ideally within a modern data platform (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery) Experience with git for writing, storing and collaborating on production level code Experience using GitHub Actions Proficient understanding of Python Familiarity with dbt Cloud Familiarity with dbt Core Familiarity with Power BI, or another modern BI platform Applied knowledge of analytics engineering best practices and methodologies Knowledge of CI/CD Experience with the principles of modelling data warehouses (Gold, Silver, Bronze table structure, Kimball modelling etc)
