About Lendable
Lendable is on a mission to make consumer finance amazing: faster, cheaper and friendlier.
We’re building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start:
- One of the UK’s newest unicorns with a team of just over 250 people
- Among the top 10 fastest-growing tech companies in the UK
Profitable since 2017- Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs
Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.8/5 across 10,000s of reviews)
So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days.
We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of these are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.
Join us if you want to
- Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1
- Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo
- Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting
About the role
We are welcoming applicants with 5 or more years of professional experience who can demonstrate they have set up cost-effective and scalable direct marketing channels for financial services applications and products.
We’re looking for a super-smart person who is great with numbers and loves problem-solving, to lead a new team and have a big impact on our business.
This role is designed for anyone who has done the following:
developed and executed direct marketing strategies that delivered large-scale acquisition volume into a mobile app
set up and scaled performance marketing campaigns across social media (Instagram, Meta, TikTok, Snap) and search platforms (Google, Bing)
Used SEO/ASO and content to build organic and referral campaigns to boost the return on ad spends of paid campaigns
analysed audience selection, bidding and conversion patterns to improve acquisition and then inform retention/monetisation programs
followed up rigorously on what they have learned and experienced to upgrade their knowledge going forward.
In short, we want someone who has experience with growth marketing in personal finance apps that could include banking, credit products, remittances, investments, trading, insurance or any other personal finance needs.
You’ll be working in a small, ambitious, and fast-paced team of data-driven troubleshooters, so this role is for thorough, self-reliant, and curious applicants.
Reporting to the CMO, this role will manage a few direct reports and collaborate with product functions to deliver their vision.
This role should be the subject matter expert for all direct marketing acquisition and teach the organisation best practices.
Your team’s objectives
We are responsible for the growth of all lending products, historically driven by partner and product initiatives in a B2B2C model.
We are now expanding the team to include talented marketers as we combine our products into a single app for customers and launch direct marketing.
Ultimately, the team asks ‘where can we efficiently find new customers?’, ‘what can I improve with my current channels?’, ‘what can I improve in the product to benefit and retain customers?’
The team is responsible for identifying and pulling the biggest available levers of growth.
We are objective-driven: covering all growth levers regardless of whether they are marketing, product or partnership opportunities.
How you’ll impact those objectives
You will begin by learning about our various products, current acquisition dynamics, historical B2C test campaigns and current campaigns being built.
You will then research and propose a go-to-market strategy to launch the app that will combine our 3 current products. You will simplify and demystify.
On launch you will run and optimise the campaigns directly, working hand-in-hand with our Group Product Manager to develop the proposition.
Once the product-market fit is established, the company is ready to materially resource and invest in the campaigns unlocking role progression associated with scaling up the team to be as effective as possible in the long run.
What do you need to succeed in this role
Evidence of excellence in something that you are passionate about
Evidence of ability to identify and test assumptions
Experience with all core advertising tracking and attribution platforms (e.g. Meta, Google, TikTok, Bing)
The ability to cut through the noise of marketing technology advances to focus on just the most valuable new tools and techniques - e.g. MMPs.
Strong understanding of consumer regulations in financial promotions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail and nuance
Excitement about the opportunity to work in a real entrepreneurial environment and have a real impact on the business
You should be looking to drive the strategy and take ownership, but be able to push the buttons and test campaigns yourself while we develop the value proposition for customers.
The interview process
We’re not a corporate so we try our best to get things moving as quickly as possible. For this role, we’d expect:
A 30-minute introductory phone with one of the team,
A short take-home task,
Up to 2-3 onsite interviews with the various employees you are likely to work with, using your take-home task as a basis of discussion and collaboration.
