About The Felix Project
The Felix Project is a dynamic, ambitious charity working to make London a city where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.
We rescue high quality, fresh and nutritious food that cannot be sold from nearly 500 suppliers including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants and delis. We sort and deliver this food to charities, schools and community projects supporting London’s most vulnerable people.
This year we expect to rescue 13,000 tonnes of food to redistribute to more than 1,000 London frontline charities and primary schools in every borough of London. That’s enough food to make more than 30 million meals.
The Felix Project is growing fast in response to huge demand. Set up in 2016, we now have around 160 staff working alongside 8,500 volunteers. We have four main operating depots spread across London - in Deptford, Enfield, Park Royal and Poplar. We’re committed to ensuring our different teams work hand-in-hand, so our main hot-desking spaces are built into these depots.
Alongside our large-scale, depot-based operations we have green ‘point-to-point' food redistribution projects in central London and Canary Wharf. In Poplar, we operate a commercial Kitchen which uses surplus food to cater for up to 5,000 individual meals per day.
Role Overview
This role is a fantastic opportunity to help grow awareness and support for the Felix Project, as we work to become London’s best-loved charity. As Brand Marketing and Campaigns Manager, you will report to the Head of Brand Marketing, Communications and Digital, working alongside a team of brand-building and communications experts to grow the Felix Project’s influence, income and impact.
This is a busy, rich and varied role: you’ll use your skills and experience to lead on devising and deploying individual giving and brand-building campaigns; on developing our brand assets and guidelines; on planning coordinated content across digital and other channels; and on ensuring our Community Fundraising, Mass Participation and Philanthropy teams have the communications support they need to succeed, among diverse other projects.
You’ll work closely with the Head of your team on budget setting and management, on strategy and planning. You will have a central role in developing brand messaging, our overarching case for support, and creative executions of our brand.
You’ll line manage a small team focused on creative and effective content and digital communications, and will brief and manage external creative agencies supporting our work. While the focus of our marketing and brand awareness raising is through digital channels, you will also lead on the application of our brand by teams across the organisation, in publications and physical brand assets.
Alongside other managers and leads, you will share responsibility for ensuring compelling, consistent and coordinated communications across all our channels including celebrity endorsement, PR, and all forms of marketing.
This is a hands-on as well as a management role and you will need strong copywriting and related skills to help develop reports, marketing materials and other brand collateral.
You will have strong experience of using marketing to support individual giving and will be jointly responsible for planning and implementing coordinated marketing, lead- and income-generating activity, including regular flagship campaigns planned throughout each year.
The Felix Project is fortunate to have support from market-leading creative agencies, household name celebrities and top-level media partners and corporate supporters. Bringing your energy, expertise and ambition to this role will reap real rewards; it’s a rare opportunity to build your skills with some really exciting partners in an organisation that also enjoys widespread public support.
