Bubble.io is a unique platform that combines a no-code design tool, a Turing-complete programming language, and a hosting platform as a service. As a mid-level software engineer at Bubble.io, you will be joining an early-stage, fast-growing company with diverse technical challenges and unlimited scope for engineers to shape the future direction of our product.

As a Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to both product and technical direction, while working closely with senior engineers and learning from your colleagues. We have a culture that emphasizes trust and autonomy, where teams are given problems to tackle rather than solutions to implement.

Team placement is flexible, and we encourage internal mobility. Current openings include:

  • The Platform team focuses on building scalable, secure architecture, internal tooling, testing infrastructure, and highly-performant services.

For our Software Engineer I openings, we look for:

  • At least 1 - 2 years of professional experience, or new grads with multiple internships at startups or companies with strong tech cultures
  • Diversity of technical background: our team is made up of engineers who have worked with multiple languages and problem spaces

For our Software Engineer II openings, we look for:

  • 2 - 4 years of industry experience as a software engineer, preferably with experience in high-growth startups
  • Strong fullstack coding skills and the ability to mentor other engineers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Alignment with our values, including a desire to empower others, a focus on team and user success over individual achievement, and transparency and willingness to admit mistakes and failures

While we do not require new hires to be experts in our tech stack on day 1, familiarity and a willingness to learn fast is helpful. Our tech stack includes:

  • Frontend: Typescript, SolidJS
  • Backend: Typescript, Node.js, Redis, Postgres, TimescaleDB
  • Infrastructure: AWS, CDK / Terraform, ECS, Typescript, Elastic

For all of our Engineers we look for:

  • Excellent communication skills. We believe that the ability to explain your work to others is important
  • Goal orientation, and ability to find pragmatic solutions to hard problems
  • Alignment with our values: desire to empower others, a focus on team and user success over individual achievement, and transparency and willingness to admit mistakes and failures

Join us in defining the future of software development at Bubble.io! We look forward to hearing from you.

We offer competitive compensation aligned to tier one markets, such as New York City, San Francisco, and Seattle. Our estimated salary for our Software Engineer I role ranges from $102,000 to $138,000 while our Software Engineer II role ranges from $134,000 to $181,000. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.

In addition, all Bubble employees are eligible for meaningful equity packages. We offer health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) plans with an employer match, flexible paid time off, a sabbatical every 3 years, and generous parental leave. We also offer a variety of stipends to use towards your work from home setup, learning, and wellness-related purchases.

At Bubble, we encourage people from all ages, abilities, and experiences to apply. Bubble does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital or family status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, pregnancy or caregiver status, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.

Bubble is remote-friendly, and we have employees who work across the United States. In-office requirements will vary by role. You'll be able to identify which state you plan to work in on your application.
