Sporting Assets is the leading provider of advisory and investment management services to the sport and physical activity sector in the UK. We manage impact investment funds that provide affordable patient loans to community-based organisations delivering impact through sport and physical activity. Our investors and stakeholders include Sport England, National Governing Bodies, Trusts and Foundations such as the Bank Workers Charity, and Impact Investors including the Access Foundation and Better Society Capital. Beyond our funds, we offer business advisory services to help organisations build capacity, develop investment cases, and access funding to become more sustainable and impactful. As a social enterprise, we focus on building resilient, sustainable, well-invested community enterprises with improved social and health outcomes.

The role: As the Head of Investment, you will lead the team responsible for delivering all of our investment work. This includes managing existing funds, driving the development of new funds, and supporting new investment product initiatives. You will work alongside the Head of Advisory Services and report directly to the CEO. Your primary focus will be on managing and delivering our growing portfolio, ensuring a robust pipeline of investible projects, leading the investment team in loan origination, evaluation, and execution, and managing overall portfolio performance.

Job requirements: We are seeking a candidate with experience in SME loan underwriting, credit assessment processes, and a successful track record in loan origination, assessment, execution, and portfolio management. Knowledge of financial markets, investment products, asset classes, and strong analytical skills are essential. You should have a strong motivation for impact investment, preferably with experience in the sports sector.

Benefits: The position offers a base salary of £55,000 to £65,000 per annum, with a discretionary bonus of up to 30% of base pay, plus statutory pension contributions. We offer 25 days of flexible holiday plus additional fixed days at Christmas, hybrid working arrangements, and the potential to become a shareholder. This role requires at least 2 days per week attendance in our Leeds office.
