Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • A recognised qualification in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England or equivalent bodies.
  • Experience in a social care setting with children/young people and their families.
  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary environment, preferably within the NHS.
  • Understanding of child & young people development and impacts of serious illness on families.

About the role: We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team in Leeds. This role involves working closely with children and young people affected by cancer, providing tailored support in collaboration with NHS teams and community services. The position is based predominantly at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’ Hospital, with some flexibility for occasional home working as agreed with the management.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will hold a recognized Social Worker qualification and be currently registered with Social Work England or equivalent bodies. Experience in a social care setting with children, young people, and their families is essential, as is experience in a multi-disciplinary environment, preferably within the NHS. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of child and young people development and the impacts of serious illness on families.
