Who are we?
Sharky & George is a creative events company that specialise in immersive experiences for children and adults in the UK and overseas. With offices in Parsons Green, London and Bristol, Sharky & George employ a core team of ~25 staff, supported by a party team of over two hundred freelancers, who are kept very busy managing an average of two hundred events a month.
The Corporate Team
The corporate events team of Sharky & George continues to expand and develop and we are seeking someone passionate, dynamic and creative to join our team. With some seriously exciting events in the pipeline for 2023/4 we are looking for someone who is both ambitious and keen to embrace a new challenge. Events range from adult summer sports days (with a twist!) and children’s Christmas parties for 200 guests, to large scale corporate off-sites abroad and film screening events.
The Role
- Responding to corporate event enquiries in a timely manner
- Creating detailed event proposals for corporate clients using Canva
- Scheduling, preparing for and attending client meetings and site visits
- Delivering large-scale events
- Providing detailed costings of events in line with relevant budgets
- Nurturing relationships with clients and assisting with business development and client acquisition strategies
- Providing detailed costings of events in line with relevant budgets
- Creative brainstorming and development and implementation of ideas
- Genuinely understanding the feasibility of ideas in the context of each event
- Meticulously planning and executing events for children and adults
- Liaising with suppliers and venues
- Onsite end to end event managing
- Working together with the corporate team to ensure all relevant licences, documents and assessments are in place before events
Experience and Skills
- Preferably have proven and demonstrable experience in the corporate events world although suitable experience in other industry sectors would be considered.
- Meticulously organised and forward thinking
- Friendly, enthusiastic and personable
- Ability to work autonomously under the direction from senior team members
- Punctual and reliable with a flexible approach to work
- A ‘can do’ and proactive attitude
- Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects against tight deadlines
- Excellent phone manner and verbal communication skills
- The ability to develop good working relationships with clients and team members
- Competency in using social networking sites such as LinkedIn
- The ability to be adaptive, responsive and to problem solve whilst remaining calm under pressure and professional at all times
- Proficiency using a range of office IT including gDrive, spreadsheets, booking software/CRM, design software skills like Canva
Detail
The role is full-time, to commence over the next two months. The salary for this role will be subject to experience and is pitched at a junior to mid-level events planner position. The role is predominantly London-based with some flexibility for home working. Sharky & George hours have recently changed to 9am-5pm.
