About You

You’re a digital ad operations expert with advanced experience in programmatic ad technology, managing supply side platforms, digital ad campaigns and maintaining an ad server. You understand how to prioritize user experience while optimizing the delivery, yield and performance of our ad sales efforts. You are passionate about owning projects from start to finish, delivering results at a high level and having a voice in the direction of our success. What you’ll do

  • Reporting to the VP of Digital Ad Sales, you will manage programmatic ad operations across web, iOS and Android on chess.com.  
  • Manage Programmatic accounts (SSPs, DSPs) to ensure top performance, identify opportunities and troubleshoot issues.  This includes building relationships with buyers, running kick off and monthly calls and monitoring daily activity. 
  • Be directly responsible for monitoring Programmatic activity across display, native and video formats on web and app by running diagnostic reports, identifying issues, opportunities, and making optimization changes that improve monetization, reach, and engagement.
  • Manage both open and private spend using the programmatic platforms and GAM to set up and maintain ORTB and deal ID activity. 
  • Oversee the ad server (GAM) to ensure proper set up and delivery of inventory, line items, and ad protections. Ability to set up sponsorship or house campaigns for internal teams.  
  • Work with relevant teams to set up and maintain programmatic bidder connections (prebid, TAM or OB), test new ad formats or placements, manage ads.txt files and general health of programmatic buying pipes.
  • Review and deliver daily and monthly performance reports to customers and internal teams. Analyze that data to identify best performing tactics and propose/implement improvements to ad delivery.
  • Partner with our reporting vendor to build an organized and accurate reporting tool that streamlines all programmatic spend and provides analysis of ad performance at a granular level   
  • Interact with buyers and audience data partners to discover and implement high quality ad inventory and audience data segments opportunities as we explore new strategies.

Preferred Skills

  • 2-4 years experience managing Programmatic campaigns with an SSP or Publisher 
  • Strong digital media background and account management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the online advertising industry including ad technology solutions within the DSP and SSP to publisher ecosystem.
  • Experience with activating and managing Prebid, TAM and OB platform connections as well as deal ID maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Ad Manager and campaign management
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data within Excel as well as work with business intelligence and reporting tools.  
  • Knowledge of ad delivery across web, android and iOS platforms
  • Analytical and quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
