Love The Oceans (LTO) is a grassroots non-profit marine conservation organisation working in Mozambique. We are looking for smart, educated, passionate Marine Biologists who want to work hard in a spectacular location with stunning megafauna. We need a Field Specialist to join us in 2024 for a 10-week period to support our expeditions. After this role has been completed, there is a possibility of taking a more permanent paid role with us.
Location: Guinjata Bay, Mozambique
Responsibility: 1 week training, support of two + 5-week long Love The Oceans Research Programs
Required Dates: June 23rd 2024 – September 1st 2024 (70 days) Compensation: Field Specialists do not receive monetary compensation, however LTO does cover accommodation, meals, a contribution towards flight/visa costs, all activities required in country, airport pick up and drop off and training. This 2 month stint with us serves as an introduction to Love The Oceans and we’re looking for people with an interest to take a paid 1 year contract with us after completion of this role. This 2 month role will enable both parties to ensure the fit is right, and get to know eachother, and then to open discussions about a longer term position.
The 1 year contract will be overseeing our expeditions, as well as project delivery of our research and community outreach, and coordinating our in-country team. You’ll be on the ground in Mozambique, assisting and developing different on-going LTO projects.
