Job description

Depop is looking for a Senior Internal Communications Manager to lead our internal communications function globally. This role will be responsible for managing the strategy and execution of some of our most critical employee touchpoints, ensuring our teams have the knowledge and context they need to deliver on our mission. You will be the go-to internal comms partner for all Depop teams, including our leadership, People, Impact and support teams, as well as key business initiatives. Finally, you will also be responsible for establishing the right systems and improving tooling to equip our employees with the information they need to do their best work. This role reports to the Senior Director, People, Culture & Impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver the global internal communications strategy, including a wide range of projects and key initiatives, that engage a hybrid, company-wide audience
  • Partner with internal operations teams across the company, including People, IT, Strategy & Operations, Impact, etc. to ensure their communications to broad employee audiences are clear, effective and consistent with our overall strategy and messaging
  • Develop communication frameworks and plans to effectively deliver company announcements, key strategic priorities and milestones on behalf of the business and our Executive team
  • Ensure consistent internal communications, keeping employees informed and engaged in what is happening
  • Own and improve our internal communications channels, including our company-wide intranet, The POD, plus identifying creative ways to measure and improve the effectiveness of our internal communications
  • Act as a strategic counsel to the Exec team, refining their internal voice to ensure clear and consistent communications, especially through change
  • Partner with Etsy & Depop comms to manage critical business communications on behalf of Depop employees

Qualifications

  • Extensive relevant experience working in strategy, internal or corporate communications, ideally at a tech company, social marketplace or purpose-led business growing at scale
  • Proven experience creating and delivering employee engagement plans with a primary focus on company culture 
  • Experience running an internal knowledge management platform or content management system used by a large audience, using analytics to optimise its UX and performance
  • High attention to detail and ability to distil complex ideas into clear guidance and communications
  • Strong organisational skills with a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves approach and a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and independently
  • Solid track record of strategic change management that has resulted in increased impact and efficiency for your partners
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal, in-person and virtual – with the ability to engage technical and non-technical global, cross-functional groups
  • Highly proficient in the full Google Workspace suite; familiarity with Workday;, HowNow or other intranet software; proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premiere (or other video editing software) a plus
