Role Summary

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Analyze IT systems and business processes for improvements.
  • Create detailed documentation and functional specifications.
  • Work with IT development teams to implement solutions.
  • Address and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ensure smooth integration of new systems with existing infrastructure.
  • Assist in developing and implementing data management best practices.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience in Scrum or Kanban teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and business intelligence skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Desirable: Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Python.
  • Desirable: Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Desirable: Strong IT systems and network knowledge, including Azure.

Role Description

Low Carbon is building a Digital Platform to transform enterprise data management, drive efficiencies and improve decision quality. Joining a small group of high performing technology and data science professionals, this role will play an important role in supporting a number of project initiatives and BAU activities to ensure the efficient and effective operation of our organisations IT systems and infrastructure.

You will be responsible for analysing user requirements, identifying technical solutions, and providing support to end-users.


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyse requirements by collaborating with business stakeholders
  • Critically analyse and map IT systems, business workflows/process, and data flows, identifying areas for improvement
  • Create documentation including functional and technical specifications, user manuals, workflow diagrams and data models
  • Work closely with IT development teams to ensure successful solutions implementation
  • Act as a focal point with business stakeholders, to troubleshoot and address issues
  • Collaborate with third parties and internal teams to ensure smooth integration of new systems with existing infrastructure, deploying effective change management procedures
  • Assist with the development and implementation of data management best practices

Skills & Experience

Prospective candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as IT, Computer Science, economics or statistics or equivalent academic or on-the-job experience.

  • Essential: Previous experience as a Business Analyst – able to hit the ground running
  • Experience with agile methodologies, including working in Scrum or Kanban teams
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and business intelligence skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a non-technical audience
  • Desirable: Proficiency in Excel, SQL and Python
  • Desirable: Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI
  • Desirable: Strong knowledge in IT systems, networks, infrastructure, Azure
