The 93% Club, the UK’s largest network for state-educated students and professionals, seeks an exceptional Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our dynamic team. As we strive to make everyone #StateSchoolProud, we need a growth-oriented operator to collaborate closely with our Founder and CEO, Sophie Pender, to define the charity's strategic direction and drive the team towards achieving our ambitious goals.

Responsibilities

This role offers the opportunity to work across all aspects of the Club and at the right hand of the Founder and CEO. In particular, our Chief Operating Officer will:

  • Collaborate with the CEO to shape The 93% Club's strategic vision.
  • Establish the foundations for scalability by defining objectives, priorities, success metrics, and milestones to execute the strategy.
  • Lead implementation (people, process, tech), with a strong focus on delivering outstanding service for our members and partners alike
  • Oversee the charity's financial organisation, reporting to the leadership team and Board of Trustees.
  • Define and champion organisational values, fostering a strong sense of cultural cohesion.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, including our backbone of dedicated volunteers.
  • Proactively identify and address potential opportunities and challenges, keeping Sophie and the team one step ahead.
  • Embrace versatility; whilst this role centres on operational excellence, the incoming COO will happily wear many hats, from enabling fundraising efforts to representing us at prominent events if and when required.

Qualifications

  • Deep commitment to The 93% Club's mission of transforming the state-educated experience in the UK.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate challenges and envision the bigger picture.
  • Growth-oriented operator with exceptional organisational and leadership skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget and P&L management experience.
  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of primary business functions, including Finance and HR.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of addressing team needs and holding stakeholders accountable.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, with experience in data-led decision-making.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a highly collaborative nature, dedicated to supporting others in achieving objectives.
