Role Summary
- Direct involvement in the full recruitment cycle from requisition to offer stage.
- Collaboration with the Global Head of Resourcing for new programme mobilisations.
- Utilisation of digital platforms and social media for effective recruitment.
- Implementation of diversity initiatives in recruitment practices.
- Enhancement of onboarding processes.
- Management of Field Officer selection and external recruitment events.
- Travel internationally 2-3 times a year to assist with recruitment in challenging environments.
- Address visa/immigration issues in collaboration with the Travel and HR team.
- Participation in HRD projects, team meetings, and training initiatives.
Role Requirements
- Proven in-house or agency recruitment experience, preferably in the NGO sector.
- Proficiency in sourcing talent through LinkedIn, CV databases, and networking.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and ATS/video interviewing platforms.
- A passion for recruitment and a commitment to providing excellent service.

Resourcing Officer
Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)
£30,000 - £37,000 dependent upon experience
Hybrid working - Can be home based, but with travel to head office in Thornhill, Dumfries once a month
Occasional international travel required (2-3 times a year)

About the role
We are excited to be recruiting the role of Resourcing Officer on a permanent basis here at The HALO Trust.
Reporting to the Global Head of Resourcing, this is an opportunity for you to be at the heart of bringing HALO’s mission to life and we need someone who is passionate and has the purpose to make a massive difference, at pace and in an ever-changing environment.
You will be supporting recruitment activity across our UK and Global operations. Internationally we recruit talent to be posted in some of the world's most challenging and austere environments, and this could involve travel to some of our programmes 2-3 times a year. This isn't for everyone, and you'll need to be comfortable travelling to regions where there is active conflict. But the rewards of seeing the work we do on the ground, and seeing the difference your new hires are making to the lives of others is immense.
The key tasks of the role are:
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for HALO from requisition to offer ensuring programmes and departments are staffed to plan.
- Work with the Global Head of Resourcing to deliver recruitment in relation to new programme mobilisations and expansions.
- To effectively use technology and social media to ensure a digital first approach.
- Implement diversity initiatives into our resourcing approach.
- Review and enhance our onboarding offer.
- Where required work in partnership with external partners to ensure the effective delivery of talent into HALO.
- Support the management of Field Officer selection activities, ensuring the best candidates are managed through selection and appointment
- Respond to colleague and job applicant queries face to face and via phone and inbox management ensuring an outstanding candidate experience.
- Report on recruitment KPI’s (e.g., recruitment timeframes and fulfillment, cost, candidate and hiring manager experience to the business, highlighting any issues.
- Manage attendance at external recruitment events as required e.g., jobs fairs.
- Work with the Travel and HR team to manage visa/immigration issues with regards new starters.
- Other HRD wide projects and initiatives as required.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and other relevant meetings.
- Actively participate in training and development initiatives and strive to put new knowledge and skills into performance of role
Requirements
The role of Resourcing Advisor is to deliver an excellent service to managers to ensure roles are recruited into successfully and programmes / departments are staffed to plan.
To achieve this, the post holder needs to be passionate about Resourcing and have a great knowledge of Resourcing processes and relevant legislation, be highly organised and take a proactive approach, thinking about the needs of the business. They will have regular contact with managers, colleagues and job applicants and will be required to be approachable and positive with a can-do approach representing HALO as a great place to work.
Who we’re looking for
- Previous in-house or agency recruiter experience, ideally from an NGO sector background
- Experienced and skilled in proactive sourcing of talent through LinkedIn, CV databases and networking.
- You’ll need to be a clear, positive and enthusiastic communicator, as you’ll be interacting with candidates and managers through the course of your day
- Being organised comes as second nature to you, managing many spinning plates all at the same time is a challenge that doesn’t faze you
- You’ll have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that your work is accurate, hiring and compliance steps are completed, and nothing slips through a gap
- You will have a professional approach to work as you’ll be representing the company to our candidates, and representing the team to managers within the business
- Using Microsoft packages will be familiar to you such as word, outlook and excel (we do love a spreadsheet or two!), but you’ll be up for using other tech such as our ATS and Video Interviewing platform
