Role Summary

  • Oversee the London office's daily operations, fostering an exceptional work environment.
  • Handle the employee lifecycle from preboarding to offboarding, plus all associated administrative tasks.
  • Engage with new hires, ensuring they have the necessary tools and systems for their roles.
  • Ensure HR system data integrity and manage employee information.
  • Document and update workflow procedures, and suggest improvements.
  • Contribute to People & Operations team projects.

Role Requirements

  • Experience in a startup or scale-up is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with IT systems and various software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills for regular stakeholder interaction.

BeZero Carbon is a global ratings agency for the Voluntary Carbon Market. We distribute our ratings via our SaaS Product, BeZero Carbon Markets, informing all market participants on how to price and manage risk. Our ratings and research tools support buyers, intermediaries, investors and carbon project developers.

Founded in April 2020, our 150+ strong team combines climatic and earth sciences, sell-side financial research, earth observation, machine learning, data and technology, engineering, and public policy expertise. We work from four continents.

We raised a significant Series B funding round in late 2022, and are growing rapidly as a company, accelerating the Net-Zero transition through ratings.

Job Description:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is keen to take on a broad role within an exciting climate-tech scale-up. You’ll help us with the day to day running of our business and gain first-hand experience of the inner workings of an early stage business.

Our ideal candidate will be a diligent problem solver who cares about creating a great employee experience; whether it’s through managing our office environment, owning employee lifecycle processes like onboarding and offboarding, or organising our next company social. Your responsibilities will be broad and will include:


  • Manage our London office day to day and take responsibility for making it a great place to work.


  • Managing core areas across the full employee lifecycle at BeZero, including preboarding, onboarding, offboarding, administrative tasks and coordination.


  • Welcome and engage with new employees, ensuring our employees have the equipment and systems they need to do their jobs.


  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee information in HR systems and personnel files, ensuring data integrity at all times.


  • Take ownership of documenting workflow and procedures, updating existing processes and proactively suggesting better ways for us to perform our work.


  • Support project work across the People & Operations team.


You will be our ideal candidate if:


  • You have any experience working in a startup or scale up business.


  • You have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, as well as acute attention to detail.


  • You take ownership and proactively deliver what is needed.


  • You’re confident working with IT systems and software applications


  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and are happy interacting with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis
