General Overview
We are looking for a proactive executive to join Conception X as Head of Partnerships.
The right person will lead the strategic direction of national and international partnerships to enhance the global reputation of Conception X. They will be instrumental in developing strategic alliances with key educational institutions and other organisations.
The Head of Partnerships will own the delivery of all partnerships, strengthen relationships with existing partners, and actively develop new partnerships across the UK and abroad.
The successful candidate will have experience developing and executing high-level university partnerships and be extremely comfortable networking with senior university and industry leaders. They will be up-to-date with the science commercialisation and entrepreneurship agendas, while being able to discuss in depth the challenges and opportunities facing the UK's higher education sector.
We are looking for someone based in London, with opportunities to work from our office and home. Some travel will be required for events and to attend in-person meetings.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
Strategic Partnership Development and Relationship Management
- Lead on crafting and implementing a partnerships strategy, including setting and delivering revenue targets,
- Create a scalable revenue plan to maximise funding for Conception X,
- Proactively identify and engage with potential new partners to diversify our partnership portfolio,
- Deepen existing relationships to ensure long-lasting partnerships and renewal,
- Manage complex partner relationships, adapting approaches to meet different needs and network extensively with relevant external stakeholders, including senior leaders,
- Work collaboratively with various internal teams to integrate partner requirements into the Conception X offering.
Negotiation, Contractual Oversight and Partner Reporting
- Lead negotiations to forge long-lasting new partnerships and renewals,
- Oversee the drafting, review, and management of contracts,
- Develop the ideas, systems and processes to regularly evaluate partnership metrics to gauge effectiveness and identify improvement areas,
- Prepare strategy reports encapsulating partnership performance and insights.
Brand Advocacy and Promotion, and Other:
- Develop presentations, success stories, and comprehensive case studies,
- Represent Conception X at university and industry events to foster new relationships and raise Conception X’s profile,
- Manage and oversee a dedicated team supporting programme delivery,
- Proactively seek out additional exposure avenues when appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrable experience (10+ years) in partnership management or a similar role, optimally within the education sector,
- Proven track record in developing and securing partnerships,
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to secure and maintain income-generating relationships,
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships within a university environment, adapting approaches to meet the different needs of partners,
- Strategic, strong execution with attention to detail, collaborative, excellent organisational skills,
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills,
- High-quality written and verbal communication, including writing partnership proposals and agreements,
- Confident in public speaking, including delivering conference sessions and networking on behalf of an organisation,
- Demonstrated interest in technology, startups, innovation and education.
