Role Summary

  • Strategically hunt for new business opportunities within the UK and Ireland.
  • Manage and grow a robust prospect pipeline using a CRM system.
  • Nurture industry contacts and trade show leads into strong partnerships.
  • Lead negotiations and close sales to meet and exceed targets.
  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships, managing customer P&L.
  • Execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with existing partners.
  • Present and promote new product developments and range extensions.
  • Utilize category data to gain a commercial edge.
  • Work closely with supply chain teams for demand planning and stock availability.
  • Participate in sampling and brand activation events.

Role Requirements

  • At least 2 years of FMCG sales experience.
  • A track record of achieving sales targets and generating new business growth.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management abilities.
  • Resilient and driven, with a positive, tenacious attitude.
  • Ability to work from the Battersea office 2-3 days a week and travel as needed.
  • Alignment with Sproud's company values.

This dynamic sales role combines the strategic elements of new business development with the nurturing aspect of key account management. As a company experiencing rapid growth, we are presented with countless opportunities, making this position ideal for a true sales hunter who thrives on closing new listings. Persistence is a pivotal trait that will drive success, alongside a genuine enjoyment in witnessing the growth and prosperity of the leads they cultivate into key brand partners. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional people skills, capable of fostering robust relationships across various customer teams, from decision-makers to marketing and supply chain professionals. You will work as a part of an experienced and international sales team, reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer who is also UK-based, meaning this role offers ample support to have an exponential impact.

Key aspects of the role:

• Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the UK and Ireland with a strategic approach.

• Maintain an active prospect pipeline within our CRM system, ensuring diligent tracking and follow-up.

• Cultivate leads sourced from trade shows and industry contacts, nurturing them into valuable partnerships.

• Convert leads to customers through effective negotiation of commercial terms.

• Accurately quantify opportunities and determine demand forecasts.

• Foster strong and sustainable customer relationships, taking ownership of the customer P&L and leading commercial negotiations.

• Facilitate growth with existing customers through well executed JBPs and promotional plans.

• Present NPD and range extension opportunities.

• Understand and interpret category data to use it as a commercial advantage.

• Collaborate closely with customers' supply chain teams to ensure robust demand planning and consistent stock availability.

• Actively participate in sampling and brand activation events.

This role is for you if you:

• Have at least 2 years FMCG experience in sales 

• Have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and generating growth through new business

• Have excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

• Are comfortable working autonomously and effective at managing own time

• Have a personal drive and is someone who really really wants to win

• Are a hustler with a relentlessness in the way you work 

• Have a positive attitude and a tenacious character – a “no” shouldn’t phase you or knock your confidence

• Are able to be at the office in Battersea 2-3 days per week and travel to meet customers as needed

• A competitive base salary + bonus

• 20 days paid holidays (increasing a day each year to a maximum of 25 days) + bank holidays
