The role of Senior Data Analyst:
Glean is seeking a proactive and experienced Data Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our data maturity journey, driving our understanding of the product and user base through insightful analysis and visualisation.
Meet the team:
The data team currently consists of a Data and Analytics Lead, 2 Data Engineers, 1 Data Analyst and 1 Data Scientist. This role will mostly work closely with the Data Analyst and Data Scientist, though as a small team there will still be a lot of crossover with Data Engineering. Data has recently moved into Technology at Glean, meaning there will be cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, UX and Product.
Your Manager will be Phil, the Data and Analytics Lead, who has been at Glean for a year and has 10 years of experience in Data.
What you’ll be doing:
Data Analysis and Visualization:
- Develop both ad-hoc and recurring reports using Tableau to provide actionable insights into product performance and user behaviour.
- Drive the data team's presence across the organisation by sharing interesting and impactful insights.
- Champion the adoption of Tableau as a primary data visualisation tool across the organisation.
- Identify and leverage valuable data sources to enrich our understanding of user interactions and product usage.
- Utilise dbt to model data and maintain reporting schemas in Databricks, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organisation to extract maximum value from available data.
- Work closely with data engineers to integrate data from diverse sources and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Contribute to the implementation and refinement of the organisation's overall data strategy, aligning data initiatives with business objectives.
Influencing and Consultation:
- Advocate for best practices in data management and visualisation, influencing data processes to uphold standards of quality and reliability.
- Provide consultation and guidance on data visualisation techniques to ensure consistency and effectiveness in reporting.
About you:
- Proven experience in data analysis and visualisation, with proficiency in Tableau or a similar visualisation tool
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data modelling and schema design
- Python knowledge
- Experienced in storytelling through data visualisation tools
- Curious minded
- Able to take the initiative and willing to drive projects independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- An eye for accessible design
- Ability to give and receive feedback
💰Salary and benefits:
£55,000 - £70,000 dependent upon experience

Location:
We have a beautiful office space in Leeds and we love it when we get together to collaborate in person. We typically operate a hybrid way of working, however some of our roles support remote working within the UK, if you live more than 50 miles from the office.

- Screening interview with someone in our Recruitment team (30 minutes).
- First stage interview including a 30 minute task and a competency based CV review with the hiring manager and another Glean colleague (90 mins).
- Final stage interview which is a 1 hour culture and values interview. You will be meeting with the hiring manager and one of the Executive Team.
