The Better Org is an organisational development consultancy combining a holistic and human-led engagement approach with the knowledge, insights, and evidence of practitioners, academics, and impacted communities to help social change organisations create cultures of care. Simply put, our mission at The Better Org is to build better organisations with care, commitment, and connection at their core.

We are a Black woman led, mainly Global Majority organisation, with a small remote core team, and a community of remote Associates and Delivery Partners who work on a project basis. We partner with impactful organisations around the world and are excited to welcome in two new team members who will each play a key role in our continued growth and development.

We are looking for two Senior Consultants to join our team. As a Senior Consultant, you will lead on the design and delivery of a discrete portfolio of Organisational Development (OD) projects at TBO relating to culture change, structural interventions, and learning, with a particular focus on the themes of Anti-Racism, Equity & Inclusion, Anti-Oppression and Liberatory Practice. The Senior Consultant will also contribute to TBO project ideation, client management, business development, and will help supervise and oversee the work of members of the core team and TBO associates.

If you are an organisational development professional excited about challenging and transforming organisational cultures, who is committed to strengthening individual and communal liberatory practices, and who finds joy through partaking in the collective reimagining of what ‘better’ work looks like, this may be the job for you. You can find a full job description when you click 'apply.'

Further Details:

  • Annual Salary: £50,000 - £58,000 plus benefits, which include 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, office closures in July/August and over the December/January period, and an employee pension contribution.
  • Contract Type: Permanent employee contract. Whilst we are hoping to welcome one full-time (40 hours weekly) role, and one part-time (a minimum of 24 hours weekly) role, we are also able to accommodate two part time positions. Please indicate your preferred working schedule in your application.
  • Location: The role is remote, though on occasion you will need to travel to attend in person meetings and sessions with clients. You will also need to attend an in-person TBO Team Retreat three times a year. Whilst the majority of the TBO team is located in the UK, the Senior Consultant can be based in any location which is within the UTC +5 and UTC -5 timezones. TBO is unfortunately unable to sponsor working visas and as such applicants will need to already hold the existing legal right to work in their preferred working location. Please indicate your preferred working location in your application.
  • Working Pattern: We support asynchronous working patterns at TBO, so you have some flexibility to set hours that work for your personal circumstance, however, as our clients are based around the world, you would also need to have some flexibility with your availability as needed.
  • TBO Culture: Our team roots in anti-racist practice both in the work we support our clients with but additionally within our team space as well. We acknowledge the burden that our team - all Black and people of colour - carries in shepherding race-equity and anti-oppression work within the environments that we work and move through. To support our work and each other, we have a regular monthly internal anti-racist practice space and accompanying somatic check-in spaces. We are communal and collaborative in our work and work with each other across client projects when and where support is needed.
