The Role
As part of the Pip & Nut Supply Chain team, your job will be to own all production planning and procurement for current ranges. This includes managing and maintaining great relationships with our factory partners and suppliers, as well as cost management of packaging and raw materials.
The role is a 12-month fixed term contract providing maternity leave cover.
In a nutshell, you are responsible for:
- Production planning across all factories.
- Raw material and packaging procurement (including planning and cost management).
- Ensuring production is running to plan to deliver a healthy stock holding and service level to our customers.
- Building great relationships with our suppliers and factories.
- Cost saving and operational improvement project delivery.
In more detail, this means:
- Creating our production plans for all factories and communicating new purchase orders to factories
- Factory lead for 2 of our main factories which involves:
- Liaising with factory planning teams weekly to understand and find solutions to any interruptions in production.
- Building great relationships with our factory partners.
- Coordinating and leading quarterly meetings with our factories in order to maintain a positive working relationship, share objectives and progress and review KPIs.
- Managing packaging stock across all suppliers and factories to ensure sufficient cover for production and minimising write off risks.
- Work with our Pip & Nut internal team, factories and suppliers on any packaging or raw material changes.
- Working with our Supply & Demand Planning Manager to optimise stock holding and deliver our core Supply Chain metric – On Time & In Full deliveries (OTIF).
- Negotiate pricing and terms with packaging and ingredient suppliers.
- Manage our sampling forecast process with our Sales & Marketing teams, and timeline production at our factories.
- Approve factory invoices.
- Delivering cost saving initiatives across our supply chain and process improvement projects to streamline our operations.
- Actively contribute to making our wider Pip & Nut culture and place of work best in class.
- Be an ambassador for B-corp and proactively look for ways to make positive change within our operations team.
Specific knowledge, qualifications, skills & experience required:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Driven and self-motivated
- Problem solving ability
- Team player and great communication skills
- Experience of planning and relationship management in a supply chain context (preferably in FMCG)
- Energy, enthusiasm and commitment
- Intermediate to advanced Excel
- Proven experience within a supply chain role
