What will you be doing?

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Therapeutic Project Facilitator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developmental trauma and a proven track record of working with vulnerable children. The role of the Therapeutic Project Facilitator is located in the region of Swansea, volunteering mostly on-site with some remote work included. The Therapeutic Project Facilitator will work on one or more projects that aim to benefit children who have been impacted by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Responsibilities: Project Development:

Collaborate with the development and delivery team to design and develop therapeutic projects tailored to the needs of children with developmental trauma. Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in the field of developmental trauma to inform project development.

Facilitation:

Conduct therapeutically-informed sessions and activities with groups of vulnerable children, parents and/or staff providing a safe and supportive environment for sensory regulation, emotional expression and support. Utilise evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address developmental trauma and promote positive outcomes.

Support:

Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and social workers, to ensure a comprehensive approach to personalising the support they offer.

Assessment and Monitoring:

Conduct initial assessments of children to identify trauma-related needs and strengths. Collate pre-intervention and post-intervention assessments when delivering projects to measure any changes. Regularly monitor and evaluate the progress of participants, adjusting interventions as necessary. Contribute to the evaluation of projects and report writing for funders.

Collaboration and Networking:

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with external agencies, schools, and community organisations to enhance the support network for vulnerable children.

What are we looking for?

You will be responsible for facilitating therapeutic projects aimed at supporting children who have experienced trauma; our projects focus on sensory regulation, sensorimotor developments and social-emotional development. Some involve only staff working with small groups of children and others involve the parents as well. In addition, the role requires the successful candidate to be responsible for engaging with different clients and beneficiaries, ensuring that the therapeutic outcomes are measured and monitored and provide project management assistance where necessary. Essential Qualities, Experience and Qualifications:

Passion, enthusiasm, commitment. Ability to work in a team and give and receive constructive feedback. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, integrity. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Good time management skills including ability to prioritise, Experience working with children who have developmental trauma. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

Qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Therapeutic Interventions, Counselling, or a related field. Training in the BUSS model, The Just Right State Programme, Theraplay, DDP or other attachment or trauma-focused interventions. Professional registration in therapeutic practices (e.g., BACP, UKCP, DDP, Theraplay) is desirable, if appropriate.
