What will you be doing?
The role will oversee the monitoring of the organisation’s finances on behalf of the whole board of trustees, to report regularly on them to the board, and to make sure that money is properly managed. They will ensure that bookkeeping, record keeping, and budgeting are effectively actioned. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Produce regular management information and cash-flow forecasting for WENDO to be able to monitor costs and plan for future fund-raising. Keep the board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities. Work with the advisory board and trustees to give information and advice on financial matters. Overseeing and preparing monthly management accounts, year-end accounts and where required external submissions (i.e. Charity Commission, HMRC) General bookkeeping and maintenance of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements Managing the charity's bank accounts, investments, and cash flow, ensuring that funds are properly handled and safeguarded. Assessing financial risks to the charity and developing strategies to mitigate them. Involvement in fundraising activities and where required, developing income-generation strategies to support the charity's work. Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of UK registered charities including external reporting requirements
What are we looking for?
You will have a passion for women empowerment and development initiatives Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational and time management capabilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to work independently and remotely, with minimal supervision ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA (or non-UK equivalent) accreditation Experience of managing the finances of an organisation A motivated and reliable professional, with strong financial and organisational skills in order to help the charity operate effectively.
