What will you be doing?
Candidates for this voluntary role should have an interest in or, at least, a curiosity about the development of health science, about cell biology, bio-informatics, DNA sequencing and genome analysis. To sustain and grow the Trust we would like to add some expertise in investment management and, ideally, access to wider networks of potential financial support in the City of London and elsewhere. The trustees will be expected to meet once or twice a year in the Genetics Department at Guy's, to review occasional research or capital investment proposals and to authorise expenditure on new projects.
What are we looking for?
Candidates should have an interest in or, at least, a curiosity about the development of health science, DNA sequencing and genome analysis. Additionally, expertise in investment management, in charity governance and, ideally, access to wider networks of potential financial support in the City of London and elsewhere.
What difference will you make?
Trustees will have the satisfaction of playing a part in the development of a world class research centre, contributing to cutting edge science and better understanding of the causes and clinical management of serious medical and disabling conditions. Successful candidates will be part of a new generation of trustees to maintain and build on a successful record of fundraising and grant giving begun in the 1980's.
