What will you be doing?
We are seeking applications from individuals who would like to become an ordinary trustee for Eden Rivers Trust, as positions are about to become vacant on our Board. Naturally we seek applications from those who have an interest in the conservation of rivers, but we also would like to hear from those who have skills or experience in farming, access, engagement and education. In 2024 we will be starting significant, long-term projects in Carlisle, Penrith and Kirkby Stephen so would particularly welcome applications from individuals based in these areas. Our ultimate aim is to develop and broaden the diversity of our Board of Trustees; we are working towards an equal gender balance as well as a variety of perspectives and backgrounds so that our governance is as robust and as representative of our stakeholders as possible.
What are we looking for?
The main skills required are an ability to be strategic, to work as part of a team of trustees governing the organisation and to have an interest in and passion for the environment. We are searching for skills in the areas of: Access to the river environment for all Farming Engagement and education but not exclusively.
What difference will you make?
As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us Re-think Rivers for Good - improving natural rivers processes and water quality, safeguarding wildlife, helping to mitigate flooding and helping everyone enjoy, celebrate and learn about the rivers of Eden and help to their future.
