Volunteer Family support charity seeking Trustee with a strong understanding of safeguarding

What will you be doing?

Home-Start Erewash belongs to a national Federation with a strong background in supporting and safeguarding parents and their children. We recognise the challenges they face and the importance of positive and caring intervention in the early years of a childs life. To ensure we continue to deliver the best safeguarding practice possible, we require a trustee with responsibility for supporting the operational strategic safeguarding lead and to contribute to general board decisions keeping children in mind.  

What are we looking for?

Ideally you will have a good understanding of the factors that contribute to good safeguarding practice and the challenges families face. Prior experience working in safeguarding, social work, healthcare, education, or a related field is highly beneficial. This could include direct experience working with vulnerable individuals or families facing challenging circumstances. The ability to collaborate effectively with other trustees and staff members, is essential for achieving our safeguarding objectives and promoting a culture of safety and support. Essentially you will be dedicated, compassionate, and committed to promoting the safety, well-being, and rights of vulnerable individuals and families within the community of Erewash.  A willingness to contribute to the positive direction of the organisation and undertake additional Home-Start UK training to support this.
