What will you be doing?

Are you seeking to use your organisational and administrative skills to help provide a better future for disadvantaged children? We’re looking for a new secretary to assist with the running of our small but highly effective charity which provides impoverished children from North East Ghana with the uniform and equipment needed for primary school. You'll be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of General Meetings, meetings of the Executive Committee and any sub-committees; providing assistance and support to the chair of the board of trustees you'll also be responsible for monitoring the charities legal responsibilities and ensuring that trustees carry out all actions assigned to them by Executive Committee.

The Secretary to the Executive Committee is also responsible for monitoring the charities legal responsibilities and ensuring that trustees carry out all actions assigned to them by Executive Committee.

What are we looking for?

Person specification:

Administrative experiece.  To have good listening, oral and literacy skills. Knowledge of the law and best practice relating to English charities. To be organized and methodical. Good written English. Able to contribute to discussions. Able to keep accurate records. Relevant skills to organise a meeting well. An understanding of data protection and confidentiality.

Working as part of a friendly, passionate team of trustees with a can do approach you’ll be helping to make a real difference to the livelihoods of young children born into labouring by supporting them with the necessary equipment and uniform to attend school. We work closely with our partner team, Lovey Foundation Ghana who select children to go to school and also liaise with local communities, in Bawku District, North East Ghana to raise the importance of education.
