What will you be doing?
BLB has been involved in projects in Bristol and Beira for many years, encompassing: • Education and Health • Community and Civil Society • Climate Change and Energy • Culture and Sport BLB is targeting SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals. We work through non-profit organisations in Beira and the civic authorities. We are looking for volunteers based in or around Bristol, who are passionate about global environmental and social justice. Experience and/or knowledge of Sub-Saharan Africa is welcome but not essential, as are Portuguese language skills. Trustees should have at least three years experience in one or more of the following:
taking part in outward facing local events and networking organising small fundraising events contributing to governance of an organisation making formal presentations at small gatherings developing strategies,policies and/or activitiesof an organisation
Previous board/trustee experience is not necessary, and we welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds.

What difference will you make?
As part of our board you will shape our Vision and develop our Strategies for the benefit of communities in the cities of Beira and Bristol. Trustees also pro-actively contribute to our Work Plan and activities by joining either the Projects or Operational Working Group. Trusteeship can be good for personal and professional development, as a tool to gaining new skills or achieving a more a positive well-rounded balance in their life. Being a trustee can help you be happy!
