What will you be doing?
What will you be doing? As treasurer of DP, in addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, you will ensure our financial affairs are conducted within legal requirements and good practice. You’ll work closely with the Chair/Vice Chair and trustees to oversee the financial sustainability and development of our charity including:
Overseeing, approving and presenting budgets, accounts and financial statements Being assured that the financial resources of the organisation meet its needs Ensuring that the charity has an appropriate reserves policy Preparing and presenting financial reports to the board Ensuring that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place Advising on the financial implications of the organisation’s strategic plans Ensuring that the accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by funders and the relevant statutory bodies Keeping the board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities Assisting with funding applications Making a formal presentation of the accounts at the AGM
What are we looking for?
Financial qualifications and experience (familiarity with accounting software such as Xero would be an asset) Experience of charity finance. The skills to analyse proposals. Being prepared to make unpopular recommendations to the board A willingness to be available to Trustees and Line Managers for advice. Experience of work related to refugees, asylum seekers an advantage.
