What will you be doing?

We’re currently looking for someone to assist with creating social media content, primarily for Instagram and X to support the company's wider vision of providing wider access for young people. This would also include continuing our 'MiniMyth' project, where we share bitesize performances of ancient Greek drama from an array of Actors, Academics, Comedians, Students and more.  We’re passionate about reimagining Greek drama to place it at the service of telling modern stories and exploring modern issues, all while retaining the magic of myth. As such, we’re excited about working with candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds, both personal and professional to ensure a diverse and multi-disciplinary approach. Actors of Dionysus is at a pivotal yet exciting time in working to refocus vision and values to speak to an increased focus on accessibility and education. As such, we are looking to enlarge our team to bring new volunteer on board.  Candidates would liaise frequently with the Artistic Director and Education Officer to ensure that the social media output of Actors of Dionysus consistently and effectively embodies our shared vision and ongoing work in accessibility and diversity in ancient Greek myth and drama.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer with experience in managing social media, and using platforms such as Instagram and X to communicate a shared vision of accessibility and diversity in Greek myth and ancient drama.  Volunteers will be able to engage creatively both with the work we do, and with myth and drama to create content that is educational and effective in helping gain followers and built our platform. They will also be able to communicate with a range of potential 'MiniMyth' creators effectively in order to continue the project and widen its audience and creators.

What difference will you make?

This role will have a very clear impact on the visibility of our charity, as a small team, it is challenging to manage social media alongside all the other responsibilities of running a specialist Arts charity so your contribution will be a huge support to the current workloads of the AD & GM. Our social media has so far been an engaging way to widen our audience and increase accessibility. It also allows us to showcase and advertise our workshops, which leads to more young people being able to experience the magic of myth themselves.   An increase in followers & engagement in social media, particularly during lockdown, has a tangible effect on future donations and engagement with our productions. As a Charity, this all directly returns to our projects and mission to make magic out of myth and make the Classics accessible to all.
