We are seeking a volunteer who will relish the opportunity to co-ordinate and manage our Corporate Volunteering Days and play an active role in shaping the development and sustainability of this project within the community.

What will you be doing?

This role will involve attracting and brokering connections with corporate volunteers and new community sectors to transform indoor and outdoor community spaces, co-ordinating volunteers to help provide positive change in the community. Volunteering may include creating or renovating outdoor spaces at schools and/or community hubs, transforming indoor spaces or just providing a couple of hours to give other community groups a helping hand. Your role will encompass  engaging with new/existing corporates involved in the project, planning and organising a volunteering events schedule, risk management and feedback and follow up after the event. At present we organise between 6-10 volunteering events a year. Your help, experience and expertise will play a pivotal role in our organisation’s development, by attracting volunteers, helping to promote the work that we do and connecting and embedding our organisation within the community.  

What are we looking for?

Teamwork

We are seeking someone who is reliable, with shared ethics and values to support this project voluntarily. General Interest, skills and abilities in practical DIY, gardening and a desire to help improve the natural environment and biodiversity within the community Creative minded and self-motivated, ability to complete work within project timescales. Strong interpersonal, team and partnership working skills. Self-directed, able to prioritise workload and adapt to changes. Organised with the ability to develop effective processes to manage data and co-ordinate tasks.

Project Management

Organisational, time and project management skills. Ideally, experience with leading and managing practical projects, working with volunteers in the social sector and/or corporate sector. Self-directed, able to prioritise workload and adapt to new opportunities. Preferably, experience in project participation and evaluation.

Communications & Networking

Strong communication skills, including a good standard of literacy, numeracy and experience of producing reports, and presenting information to a good standard. Proficient /competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point or equivalent. Able to engage and attract corporate volunteers and community hosts.
