What will you be doing?

We are seeking a dynamic and committed individual to serve as the Chair of Trustees for Basingstoke West Scouts. As a vital leadership role, the Chair will provide strategic direction, governance oversight, and support to ensure the continued success and growth of our Scout District. The District Trustee Board plays a vital role in the running of a Scout District. Trustee Boards make decisions and carry out administrative tasks to ensure that the best quality Scouting can be delivered to young people in the District. Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring alignment with the Scouts mission and objectives.

Governance Oversight: Oversee the governance and compliance functions of the District, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

Board Management: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among Trustees, fostering a positive and productive working relationship.

Community Engagement: Act as an ambassador for the District, building and maintaining strong relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and partners.

Fundraising and Resource Development: Work closely with the Board to identify and secure funding opportunities to support the financial sustainability of the Scout District.

Advocacy and Representation: Represent the Scout District at relevant events, conferences, and meetings, advocating for the organization's interests and promoting its positive impact.
