Volunteer Trustee with some experience in the wider health and care sector.

What will you be doing?

Care Now Volunteers is an exciting new charity, less than 6 months old, already making a real difference in recruiting volunteers to support care homes throughout Cornwall. Following a pilot the charity is engaged with over 50 care homes in all parts of the County. Over 300 volunteers contribute their valuable time in befriending, entertainment, gardening, housekeeping and meal support.  Our volunteers do not carry out any personal care activities. Over 20% of our volunteers have benefitted through their experiences to either engage in gainful employment or on pathways to employment. All volunteers report improvements in their self-worth and wellbeing. We are seeking Trustees who have a passion to help this embryonic charity to develop positively and strategically.

What are we looking for?

We welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds but would be keen to hear from those with Care sector knowledge. It doesn’t matter whether you are an experienced Trustee or wanting to embark on your first Trustee role. We are particularly seeking trustees who have some experience in the wider health and care sector; in fundraising; finance; in marketing, social media and PR and most of all have a commitment and passion to help the embryonic charity develop positively in coming months.

What difference will you make?

You will be a Trustee who makes a difference to local communities within Cornwall. These areas are often some of the most deprived in the Country, and your invaluable work will enable Care Now Volunteers to continue to make a difference to the wellbeing of residents of care homes, whilst improving the volunteer’s welfare and chances of employment. You will be a member of our Trustee Board and will help shape the long-term strategic direction of Care Now Volunteers, providing a valuable layer of leadership and operational experience to fulfil our vision.
