What will you be doing?

We aim to ensure the finances of the charity are well managed to ensure the charity's long term future. The duties include the supervision of the inhouse bookkeeper, the preparation of monthly cash in hand statements, the review and presentation of quarterly management of accounts, the drafting of an annual budget and the preparation of the annual Trustees Report.  To have accountancy and/or banking experience and finance management will be important. The present treasurer will be pleased to explain the role and give initial support. Age Concern Crediton and District provides a variety of services : A community Club with activities and a lunch 3 days a week, a cafe every fortnight often with entertainment, a much needed and successful Memory Cafe each Tuesday afternoon, a seated exercise and circle dance class, an art club twice a month, a Menopause coffee and chat group twice a month, and a growing home support service offering cleaning, shopping, befriending and reablement activities. We also have a footcare service. We are hoping to host a weekly CAB session and also a Macmillan Support session from time to time. We are due to have a book keeper in post very soon also. We have a CEO (28 hours a week) and approximately 12 paid staff, and 13 volunteers. We expect the role could take 10-12 hours a month. We have a trustee meeting usually every other month.

What are we looking for?

To have experience of finance management and/or accountancy or bank work. To be able to work as a member of the Trustees team and with the CEO and attend meetings approximately every two months. To have IT skills related to the role is important.

What difference will you make?

The role of the Treasurer is very important to us - not only do we need someone to keep us on track financially and keep us viable, we would welcome someone to help us formulate our vision for the future.
