What will you be doing?
You will work with our team of advisers to identify trends and issues and understand what is really affecting the lives of people in East Devon. You will help us find evidence and understand the problem in greater depth. We will then put together a plan of action, often working with other offices across Devon. You will then have the chance to petition those in power to ask for changes to legislation, policies and procedures. You can find more information on the Citizens Advice website.

You will be curious and concerned, aware and ready to investigate why people seek out our support. Analytical and determined, your attention to detail and ability to ask questions and understand the answers will help us to put together suggestions and recommendations.
What difference will you make?
We provide free, independent and confidential advice and support. No one else sees so many people with so many different kinds of problems, and that gives us a unique insight into the challenges people are facing today. With the right evidence, we can show big organisations – from companies right up to the government – how they can make things better for people. We’re also the statutory consumer watchdog for the energy and post industries, meaning we advocate on behalf of consumers in these markets. We use research and data collected from our clients to understand what issues people are facing and make recommendations to government, regulators and companies about how they could fix the underlying causes of problems. We provide information and advice to people around scams, energy and wider consumer issues. Anyone can get involved in our campaigns - we provide campaigning resources such as social media and local press campaigning packs. We will always aim to make our campaigns as inclusive as possible by translating materials into different languages and making our messages accessible for all our clients. This role will have a direct positive benefit for 1,000s of people locally and nationally.
