Samaritans of Shrewsbury are looking for an IT Support Volunteer to join our friendly and supportive team of volunteers to help ensure the vital smooth running of branch computer systems and provide IT support for our branch.

What will you be doing?
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving or referring on any hardware/ software faults as appropriate Providing support to all volunteers where needed, including procedural documentation
Supporting the roll-out of new hardware or software, including Samaritans Connect caller contact system
Setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
Liaising with Samaritans Central Office as appropriate about any continuing IT problems, where continuing IT problems in the branch would result in prolonged loss of service
Maintaining confidentiality at all times regarding sensitive information encountered within Samaritans
Practical experience of a variety of IT tools Approachable & organised Able to communicate IT support needs to the Director Ability to motivate and encourage, particularly those who are not confident with new technologies. Understanding of Samaritans Vision, Mission, & Values
