What will you be doing?

EEAOP is managed by a Board of Trustees from across the region and celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. The Trustees recognise the challenges and opportunities facing all small charities to grow and remain relevant in a changing environment. To help us enter the next chapter with renewed energy we are inviting additional trustees to join our Board. We are looking for people who want to make a positive contribution to their communities and the natural environment. We’re seeking people with voluntary sector experience and a passion to make things happen. Skills and experience in any of these fields would be an advantage: marketing, fund-raising, financial management or business planning. We especially welcome those with a background in complementary fields (e.g. horticulture, local history, environmental education, local food supply and museums).

What are we looking for?

If you are creative, energetic and supportive, could you help us achieve our aims? We’re seeking people with voluntary sector experience and a passion to make things happen. Skills and experience in any of these fields would be an advantage: marketing, fund-raising, financial management or business planning. We especially welcome those with a background in complementary fields (e.g. horticulture, local history, environmental education, local food supply and museums).  You do not need to have any experience or knowledge of apples and orchards, just a belief in their importance as part of our landscape and heritage.

What difference will you make?

As part of the Board, you will become part of a very popular project, with events and outreach across eastern England. EEAOP has an excellent reputation for its sales of local varieties of fruit trees, and for its work with schools and community projects. The Board takes a keen interest in all these activities. However, you do not need to have any experience or knowledge of apples and orchards, just a belief in their importance as part of our landscape and heritage.
