Volunteer PR & Marketing Volunteer

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a volunteer with PR and marketing experience to help us promote the exciting things we do in Girlguiding Leeds. We'd like to target certain areas of Leeds to encourage new young members to join, but we also need to recruit new adult volunteers to help us to continue to grow and deliver the amazing opportunities we offer. You would be supported by our County Commissioner (the volunteer who is responsible for managing guiding in Leeds) and would be a member of a wider team of volunteers who are involved in promoting guiding. What is the purpose of this role?

Support the design and implementation of a county PR & Marketing Plan, to promote Girlguiding activities and volunteering across the area. Provide specialist support and advice to volunteers to help with promoting guiding in local media and developing external relationships. Design, develop and produce a range of promotional materials for use by volunteers at both county and local level. Actively research and implement new and innovative ways of promoting Girlguiding activities and volunteering across Leeds. Support the learning and development of volunteers in PR and marketing, including attending training events and county days. Provide ongoing support to the County Commissioner by giving advice and answering specific queries, often by email.  Attend relevant meetings and events as appropriate, this may include at both national and regional level. Complete relevant training for the role and ensure the wider team’s skills are up to date. Keep up to date with new guiding resources and programme initiatives, and use this to inform the development of county PR and marketing initiatives. Support Leaders to provide a safe girl-only space where girls and young women can discover their full potential through all areas of the programme.
