Hoxton-based, volunteer-driven community group, established four years ago. We are feeding 300+ people weekly with surplus food. Chair required to develop a Board of Trustees able to steward and support our growth.

What will you be doing?

As our charity has grown, so have our organisational needs. We are on a mission to develop a Board of Trustees that supports this need. The Chair of this Board will be critical in helping us recruit suitable Trustees and developing a sustainable governance structure.  As well as the specific skills required of all trustees, we also require applicants for the Chair role to be able to demonstrate the following:

Experience or understanding of committee work. Strong organisational leadership skills and financial acumen. Ability to exercise sound judgement, common sense, and diplomacy. Ability to maintain high standards of personal integrity and probity. Impartiality, fairness, and the ability to respect confidences. Sufficient time and commitment to fulfil the role. Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills; ability to engage with people from all walks of life. A clear understanding of legal duties, liabilities and responsibilities of trustees, and best practice in charity governance.
