What will you be doing?

Following a successful first two years, theatre works! has become well-established as a charitable organisation. In that time we have given grants for more than 6000 disadvantaged children to experience live professional theatre. We are now looking at ways to increase our fundraising and grant applications to allow us to continue to expand the number of young people we can inspire through theatre across the UK. We are looking for volunteers to actively research funding opportunities – including but not limited to high-value donors, companies, trusts and governing bodies, and create and support a well-organised fundraising plan supported by our Trustees and admin team. An interest in theatre and education is beneficial, although neither is required. The role would mostly be fulfilled remotely with guidance from the trustees and admin support team.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for committed, enthusiastic people who can work with us either nationally or regionally and who have experience with fundraising and marketing. We welcome support from those who are able to use their persuasive writing skills to help theatre works! win new funding that will support us to sustain, increase and develop our services. We are looking for experienced volunteers to help us develop and write funding bids to trusts and foundations that support live theatre and greater exposure for young people to the arts. We are looking for someone who also has:

A good level of written and oral communication Ability to work independently and able to work under own initiative Ability to pay close attention to details Proficient in Microsoft Office Keen interest in the work that theatre works! does Proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated Good organisations skills

What difference will you make?

Our mission is to provide theatre tickets to disadvantaged children across the UK to enable them to attend professional theatre performances. Your fundraising activities will help us thrive and make our long-term growth sustainable.
