What will you be doing?
The Friends of Brompton Cemetery use a wide range of communications to reach its stakeholders. These stakeholders include our Friends (members), the Volunteers, the Royal Parks, and local community groups and individuals. There is a need to review our communication channels and improve their performance, to better fulfil the objectives of the Friends. Our current communications include our website, printed tri-yearly newsletter to members, monthly news email to volunteers, weekly administration email to selected volunteers, public social media posts, pamphlets and posters in the Information Centre and so on. We are looking for someone to review all our communications and develop a more cohesive and effective strategy to engage and retain our members, inspire our volunteers, and involve our community. You will report directly to the Chair of Friends of Brompton Cemetery. You will work with our newsletter editors, our volunteer rota coordinator, our website manager, and our Social Media coordinator. We are a small team of committed volunteers, who welcome new ideas and are keen to see improvements in this area. There is also the potential for you to join the Friends of Brompton Cemetery committee once you have established your role.
What are we looking for?
You should have experience in Communications, and understand the ways that different communications are suited for different audiences and purposes. You should have a good eye for magazine and newsletter layout and content, be comfortable with Social Media, and should know what good website design looks like. Knowledge of publishing software, gmail etc, Mailchimp and Eventbrite is an advantage.
What difference will you make?
Your input and expertise will help us develop and implement a more cohesive and impactful communication strategy. The impact you can make on increasing and retaining our membership, and in engaging and inspiring our volunteers, will be significant. You will also play a key role in improving our outreach to our local and wider community.
