What will you be doing?

We would like our volunteer to work closely with our lead teacher and trustees to research and identify grants and funding opportunities using a variety of platforms including social media. We need to achieve funding for at least a full year of programmes, to continue at our current level. However, we would like to increase capacity of the charity to two days a week and develop new programmes. To do this we need to achieve double the cost of a full year of programmes. Initially, the volunteer would work closely with our lead teacher.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a good communicator with at least 3 years of experience of researching appropriate grants and funding that would be available to a charity such as ours. We would like to see evidence of successful grant and funding applications. The person will need to keep clear and transparent records of applications made, and those to be applied for, so that applications can be tracked by the organisation. They will need to work primarily remotely, although it would be desirable to meet with the volunteer in order that they understand the nature of our charity.

What difference will you make?

Our mission is to help more children to better engage in school through improved confidence, learning and social relationships, as a result of experiencing exciting outdoor activities such as slackline, den-building, gardening and fire. We want to work with more schools to help staff to challenge and engage children in safe spaces, that they have created and nurtured. We want to continue to work with parents and carers as well, to ensure that the child is surrounded by positive messages of encouragement, hope for change and success. Our approach, The TRUST Programme improves skills in Trying, Resilience, Understanding and empathy, Self-regulation and Teamwork in order to improve outcomes. The programme acts as a re-boot and sets the child off with a refreshed and invigorated view of life and learning, which inspires a new passion for education and ultimately building a robust workforce of the future. The grants and funding that you secure for us will help us thrive and make our long term growth sustainable into the future. We would like to increase our capacity to 2 days a week. We would like to write new programmes and increase our capacity for staff training.
