What will you be doing?

Main responsibilities involved in the role: Support Prison Facilitator in the delivering of Kids Matter parenting workshops Attend a Kids Matter Family Visit Engage with supervisory support from Kids Matter Prison Facilitator

Location: Within the prison; either HMP Brixton or HMP Wormwood Scrubs. Time commitment: Commitment to a minimum of one year, 4-8 hours per week, depending on prison placement. The programme runs for five weeks* (four sessions followed by one Kids Matter Family visit day). There will be breaks between each programme, and we hope to run three programmes across the year in each prison. *Please note that programme schedules may vary based on the prison location.

Before the programme starts: Familiarise self with programme content Meet with the team Attend Kids Matter training Complete prison security checks and training (where required)

During the programme: 4 weeks of 2-hour sessions plus set-up and set-down (roughly 4 hours per week) 3-hour Kids Matter Family Visit if applicable

After programme: Review and debrief with team Kids Matter Training Before the programme begins, attend a minimum of 4.5 hours of bespoke training (depending on your level of prison experience you may be expected to attend more training).

Willing to give and receive constructive feedback Confident in facilitating group and one-to-one discussion Passion to see every child in need (particularly for those with a parent in prison) raised in a strong family Ability to remain calm, hopeful and productive in what can be a pressured institution Flexibility to be at the prisons at 7.15am on programme or workshop delivery days Experience Experience working in a prison or somewhere that has given a good understanding of the challenges faced by those caught up in the criminal justice system
