What will you be doing?
We run a community Minecraft server for children and young people up to the age of 25 with Autism, ADHD/PDA/other Neurodiversities. We are looking for exceptional individuals to provide mentorship for members. Our services are free of charge and we are looking for volunteers to support children in the gaming environment of Minecraft and other games. Children may need someone to talk to, someone to play alongside, a role model who has a career in their interests. Creative Active Lives will arrange for an Enhanced DBS and NSPCC Safeguarding Training. We encourage applications from Neurodiverse mentors.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for youth mentors who have either youth mentor experience or have career experience in software/games development, gaming, E-sports, Minecraft. Youth mentor qualification, lived experience with Neurodiversity and gaming / games development / E Sports Empathy Patience Understanding Ability to commit to at least one hour a week for a minimum of 6 months to ensure continuity for the children Enthusiasm and love for gaming especially Minecraft
