What will you be doing?

To assist the Board to see the bigger picture; bring a fresh perspective to the Trust’s marketing, communications plans, and strategies, support the organisation’s digital transformation programme, and support our director to explore new opportunities and reach out and grow new diverse audiences.   Main Responsibilities

Ensure marketing and communications are carried out in legal, honest, and accountable ways. Provide strategic direction and oversight of marketing strategies. Contribute expertise/ guidance on a diverse range of communication techniques and strategies. Offer expertise/guidance regarding digital transformation activities specific communications, such as CRM and digital marketing integration. Be an active champion of the organisation. Work to the Charities values and commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.

What are we looking for?

Knowledge of the voluntary sector. Excellent marketing, networking, influencing, and communication skills. Knowledge of digital marketing. Track record in successfully delivering high-quality public engagement activities/ campaigns (e.g., communications, volunteer engagement). Knowledge of audience growth, diversity, and segmentation. An understanding of the UK charity sector, good governance, charity regulators’ requirements, relevant legislation, and statutory requirements.

General responsibilities of a Trustee In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Trustee has the following general responsibilities:

To contribute actively to the Board of Trustees' role in giving strategic direction to the charity, setting overall strategy and policy, setting targets, and evaluating performance against agreed targets Ensure the charity applies its resources exclusively in pursuing its objectives. Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the charity. Safeguard the good name and values of the charity. Abide by the charity’s policies and procedures (e.g., Safeguarding, Diversity, and Inclusion etc.) Declare any conflict of interest while carrying out the duties of a Trustee. Be collectively responsible for the actions of the charity and other Trustees Participate in other tasks as arise from time to time, such as interviewing new staff, and helping with fundraising. Attend meetings and subcommittee meetings as appropriate and read papers in preparation for meetings. Keep informed about the activities of the charity and wider issues which affect its work.
